History
Strong Tower Fellowship (STF) began on May 24, 2009 as a mission church through Mission to North America (MNA) and the Central Georgia Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
As evidence of God’s desire for redemption and reconciliation at multiple levels, STF took over the building of the former Vineville Presbyterian Church and began to minister to the Pleasant Hill neighborhood, a historically African-American neighborhood in which the church is currently located.
Our desire is to see God glorified through the restoration of lives, reconciliation of relationships, and the gathering of a once-divided people, now brought together in Jesus Christ alone through the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit. We have a cross-cultural, multi-ethnic congregation that celebrates the diversity found in Christ's kingdom.
Our mission is reflected in Habbakuk 2:14 (ESV): "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters over the sea."

We are thankful for Rev. Brett Barbee
Brett and his wonderful family served Strong Tower faithfully for six years from 2018-2024, but have recently left to pursue God's call to them within the PCA.
Rev. Barbee is a graduate of Erskine Theological Seminary and ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America. There are many stories here in Macon of God using him and his family to advance the kingdom!
As we seek our future, we currently have guest pastors from other churches within the presbytery as the summer progresses. Please be in prayer for:

As we seek our future, we currently have guest pastors from other churches within the presbytery as the summer progresses. Please be in prayer for:
- The Central Georgia Presbytery, as it continues to serve and minister to us and guides our next steps as a congregation
- For wisdom with our church building in how it is stewarded
- Macon, our Jerusalem (Acts 2), and that all Gospel-preaching churches would flourish - and that our city would thrive because of the Gospel's advance (Jeremiah 29)
- All those who serve Christ's kingdom, that they will be encouraged and refreshed even now
- For the kingdom to advance in Pleasant Hill, Macon, Warner Robins, throughout our state, and to the ends of the Earth!
Presbyterian Church of America - what it means practically for us
Strong Tower Fellowship is a church that is part of the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA). But what does this really mean for us (and for you)? Here's a few things to know as borrowed from the official PCA website:
"The PCA was formed in 1973 to be a denomination that is “Faithful to the Scriptures, True to the Reformed Faith, and Obedient to the Great Commission.”
We are evangelical in that we proclaim salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and are reformed in that we believe in the biblical trusth proclaimed during the Protestant Reformation. In other words, the Bible (not tradition) is the church's guide for discovering how God alone saves us through his mercy and according to his plan seen throughout Scripture.
Our church is also part of the PCA governance, which means we are part of the Central Georgia presbytery (a local collection of connected PCA churches) and have other churches and pastors / elders to help oversee, encourage, and guide us - just as we do with them! Our presbytery is also beholden to other presbyteries and together these make up the whole of the PCA.
This provides wonderful cross-church accountability!
Here are a few of our core beliefs:
We are also aligned with the New City network.

Here are a few of our core beliefs:
- We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), are justly deserving of His displeasure, and are without hope except in God's sovereign mercy.
- Jesus Christ is the Son of God, savior of sinners, and our only hope for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel (Romans 6:23). His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of everyone who places their trust in Him.
- The Bible is "God-breathed" (2 Tim 3:16-17), is infallible, and is how we are equipped to live for Christ here on earth. It does not have any mistakes and is our authority on everything.
- The Trinity is one God existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
- Under Christ, we are to live to God's glory - in everything we do!
We are also aligned with the New City network.
